Being involved in your child’s education can take many forms. Texas Education Agency welcomes the participation and engagement of parents and families in supporting the education of Texas children.
The State Board of Education (SBOE) is now accepting applications for Social Studies Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) review work groups. Applications are submitted to SBOE members for review throughout the revision process.

The Parent Support Program provides Texas families clear guidance on how public schools work, what steps to take when concerns arise, and how to navigate available options if issues are not resolved.
For each TEKS subject-area review, the SBOE approves educators, parents, and others to serve on TEKS review work groups.
Parents or students with a concern about a violation of students' rights or actions taken in a Texas public school are encouraged to file an online complaint with TEA.
