When your concern can likely be resolved more quickly by your school or school system, we will use a collaborative process called Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to support you. As part of ADR, we will connect you with your school district's superintendent, in writing, and formally ask that the district work with you to reach an agreement that addresses your concern.
Concerns ADR Can Address
Parents and student complaints
- Enrollment
- Student Records
- Bullying prevention
- Local complaint procedures process
- Access to school premises
- Sexual harassment policies and procedures
- Student discipline
- Suicide prevention
- Truancy prevention
Staff complaints
- Duty-free Lunch
- Provision of service records
- Planning and preparation time
How to Begin
To begin the ADR process, file a complaint with TEA. If you notify us that your concern was not resolved through ADR, TEA can conduct a compliance review to ensure your district is following statutory and programmatic policies and requirements.
