Instructional materials convey the TEKS through tools like lesson plans and rubrics. TEA works with the State Board of Education to review, approve, and oversee their use across Texas schools.
The SBOE has authority for the review and adoption of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS). SBOE members nominate individuals to serve on the review work groups.
